4 Days Mount Meru Climb

A Scenic Wildlife Trek to Meru’s Summit

INTRODUCTION

The 4 Days Mount Meru Climb is one of Tanzania’s most scenic and underrated mountain adventures. Rising to 4,566 m (14,980 ft), Mount Meru is Africa’s fifth-highest peak and offers breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, dramatic volcanic landscapes, and rich wildlife encounters.

Unlike Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is climbed inside Arusha National Park, meaning trekkers are accompanied by an armed ranger and often encounter giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, monkeys, and abundant birdlife along the trail.

This 4-day itinerary is strongly recommended over the shorter 3-day option, allowing safer pacing, better acclimatization, and a more enjoyable summit experience.

Mount Meru is ideal as:

  • A standalone adventure

  • Or the perfect acclimatization climb before Kilimanjaro
